He’s Young Cash to some, Joey Galaxy to others, but no matter what you call him, when he touches the mic, it hits different. For years, music has ruled everything around Cash, and as a Nappy Boy Entertainment day one and marquee artist, he’s just getting warmed up.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Cash was inspired by groups like Outkast, particularly the versatility of Andre 3000. A basketball star in high school and college, he also dedicated his time making music with his brother and a friend in a group called the 904 Crew. While playing basketball in college, the 904 Crew had already garnered attention from major labels like Universal, with Cash being the main focus. They chose to stick together and keep working the local circuit. His brother tempered his music with the street hustle, though a robbery led him to be shot and paralyzed.

While Cash was dabbling in the streets a bit prior, he brought in enough money to fund his own solo music career. His buzz started building, and Universal circled back around to sign him. By this point, Cash had already befriended another Florida artist making a buzz by the name of T-Pain. The two met while Cash was on his own self-funded radio promo tour in Tallahassee, and a friendship was immediately forged.

The two remained close, however, and when Cash was shelved at his label due to creative differences, Pain got him out of his contract, officially signing him to Nappy Boy. Cash relocated to Miami, where he formally kickstarted his career, switching his style up from rapping to singing more. This adjustment led to success, as the dynamic duo dropped the groundbreaking “I’m A Freak” later that year.

Looking ahead into the future, Cash has big plans. From his own solo music to the long awaited Blues Brothers collaborative project with T-Pain, there is much more on the horizon. In addition, his own Florida Heat Podcast with childhood friend Midget Mac is set to hit Nappy Boy Radio soon. The sky isn’t even the limit; it’s more like the Galaxy.
